Liberty Rout Fever; Clark Set for All-Star Events
The New York Liberty defeated the Indiana Fever 98-77 at Barclays Center, with Breanna Stewart leading the way with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists, and Sabrina Ionescu adding 15 points and nine assists. Indiana played without star guard Caitlin Clark due to a right groin injury, dropping their record to 4-6 in games she has missed. Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 16 points, but the team struggled offensively in Clark's absence. The Liberty, also missing star center Jonquel Jones due to a sprained ankle, improved to 15-6 and are expecting Jones to return after the All-Star break. Clark remains day-to-day but is slated to participate as captain and in the 3-point contest at the All-Star Game festivities. Both teams will face each other again after the break.
