Henderson Names LVMPD Deputy Chief Reggie Rader Police Chief

The City of Henderson has appointed Reggie Rader as its new police chief, following a nationwide search that ultimately selected a local candidate with nearly 30 years of law enforcement experience. Rader, a longtime Henderson resident and former deputy chief with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, will begin his role on July 7, with a formal oath-taking ceremony planned for July 15. He replaces Hollie Chadwick, who was fired in March after less than two years in the position and has since announced her candidacy for mayor. Interim Chief Itzhak Henn, who took over after Chadwick's departure, announced his retirement in April. City Manager Stephanie Garcia-Vause praised Rader's deep community roots and leadership skills, emphasizing his commitment to transparency, community engagement, and stabilizing the police department after recent leadership changes.
