Oklahoma Sword, Shooting, and Stabbing Attacks Investigated
A 25-year-old man, Mark Christian Shepherd, was arrested after allegedly attacking a woman with a sword at the Buddha Mind Monastery in Oklahoma City and then shooting three relatives in Norman, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old man and critical injuries to two women. The sword attack left the monastery worker hospitalized in critical condition. Shepherd was apprehended during a traffic stop and is being held in the Cleveland County Detention Center, facing charges including first-degree murder and assault with a deadly weapon. Surveillance footage from the monastery aided in his arrest, and investigations into motive and additional charges continue. In a separate incident, Norman police arrested 59-year-old Anthony Rose for stabbing another person during a dispute on East Comanche Street, causing non-life-threatening injuries. Both cases remain under investigation.
