Nilambur MLA P V Anvar has made serious allegations against Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) M R Ajith Kumar and other top police officials, prompting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to order a high-level investigation. Anvar accused Kumar of constructing an expensive mansion near Kowdiar Palace, involvement in gold smuggling, and influencing the acquittal of Congress leaders linked to the solar scam. He released recorded phone conversations suggesting corruption and manipulation within the police force. The investigation team, led by the state police chief, has been tasked to complete their report within a month. Anvar also alleged that Kumar was involved in illegal phone tapping of politicians and that the police were failing to address serious cases. The situation has sparked significant political controversy, with calls for accountability within the Home Department.
