Lawsuit Filed Against United Airlines Over Mid-Flight Bathroom Incident
Yisroel Liebb, an Orthodox Jewish passenger, has filed a federal lawsuit against United Airlines after a pilot allegedly forcibly removed him from an airplane bathroom during a flight from Tulum, Mexico, to Houston. Liebb claims that the pilot broke the bathroom lock and dragged him out, exposing his genitalia to other passengers while he was experiencing constipation. He and his seatmate, Jacob Sebbag, reported that the pilot made disparaging remarks about their faith and that they were subsequently detained by U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers upon landing, missing a connecting flight to New York City. The lawsuit details that Liebb had been in the bathroom for about 20 minutes when the incident occurred, and he assured the crew he would exit soon. Following the altercation, both men were escorted from the plane in handcuffs, with Liebb alleging that he was treated harshly by the customs officers. United Airlines has declined to comment on the ongoing litigation.
