Bristol Township Woman Admits Lying About Abduction

Anjela Borisova Urumova, a 20-year-old woman from Bristol Township, pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor charges for falsely reporting an attempted rape and kidnapping that led to the wrongful incarceration of an innocent man for 31 days. Urumova admitted to fabricating the incident, which she reported occurred in the parking lot of a Redner's supermarket on April 16, 2024. Surveillance footage and cellphone data revealed inconsistencies in her story, prompting authorities to drop all charges against the accused man. Urumova's sentencing has been deferred pending a pre-sentence investigation, and she faces a potential maximum of 17 years in prison, although probation is recommended. Her defense attorney noted her struggles with mental illness, but the motivations behind her actions remain unclear. The Bucks County District Attorney's Office is also considering whether restitution can be sought for the victim of her false accusations.
