14-Year-Old Boy Dies in Ewa Beach Dirt Bike Collision, 54th Oahu Traffic Fatality

A 14-year-old boy died after his dirt bike collided with a vehicle driven by a 75-year-old man near Kolowaka Drive and Fort Weaver Road in Ewa Beach. The boy, who was riding in a marked crosswalk against a red palm signal and was not wearing a helmet, was critically injured when he was ejected onto the roadway. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services provided advanced life support and transported him to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver and his juvenile passenger remained at the scene and were unharmed. Police closed the roads nearby during the investigation and reported that speed, drugs, and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash. This incident marks the 54th traffic fatality on Oahu this year, a significant increase compared to the previous year.
