Ocado CEO Steiner Temporarily Leads Tech Division Amid Shakeup

Ocado Group CEO Tim Steiner will temporarily lead the company's technology division, Ocado Solutions, following the departure of John Martin after 18 months in the role. The leadership change comes amid ongoing challenges for the British online supermarket and technology firm, as its shares fell nearly 7% on the news. During his tenure, Martin expanded Ocado's global presence by securing a deal with Saudi Arabian supermarket chain Panda Retail Co. The company has launched a search for a permanent head of Ocado Solutions, which is seen as a key growth engine due to its focus on automating and licensing warehouse technology to retailers worldwide. Additionally, James Matthews, CEO of Ocado Technology, will become deputy CEO of the wider group to support Steiner. Ocado Solutions is part of a broader technology business that also includes automation support for retailer operations.
