Wizkid Releases Album 'Morayo' Honoring Mother

Wizkid has released his sixth studio album, Morayo, which serves as a heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who passed away in August 2023. The album, which translates to 'I see joy' in Yoruba, features 16 tracks that blend Afrobeat rhythms with contemporary sounds, exploring themes of love, resilience, and self-discovery. Notable collaborations include American R&B artist Brent Faiyaz, Nigerian star Asake, and Grammy-winning vocalist Jazmine Sullivan, among others. The album opens with 'Troubled Mind,' setting a reflective tone, and includes upbeat tracks such as 'Kese (Dance).' Wizkid's personal connection to the project is evident in both the music and the cover art, which features a photograph of his mother. Morayo is now available on all major streaming platforms.
