Footage Released of Ferguson Officer Attack

Ferguson police released body camera and surveillance footage showing 28-year-old Elijah Gantt knocking down Officer Travis Brown during protests marking the 10th anniversary of Michael Brown's death. The incident left Brown with a critical brain injury after his head struck the pavement. Gantt, already charged with assault, faces additional charges for this and other related incidents. The footage, shown at a news conference attended by local officials, elicited gasps from the audience. Police Chief Troy Doyle condemned the act, stating that those who do not denounce it are part of the problem. A prayer vigil for Officer Brown was planned outside the police station.
