LSU Tops Arkansas in College World Series Opener
LSU defeated Arkansas 4-1 in the opening round of the 2025 College World Series at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, led by ace Kade Anderson's seven-inning, seven-strikeout outing. The Tigers took control early with a three-run second inning, forcing Arkansas starter Zach Root out of the game, and Casan Evans closed out the win. LSU, making its 20th CWS appearance and seeking its eighth national title, advances to play UCLA in the winner's bracket. Arkansas will face Murray State in an elimination game. Both teams drew strong fan support and entered the matchup as highly ranked SEC rivals. Head coaches Jay Johnson (LSU) and Dave Van Horn (Arkansas) praised their teams' performances in this nationally televised contest.
