England Rail Closures Disrupt Surrey Travel During Half-Term

Significant rail closures and upgrade works are scheduled in southern England and Leicestershire, affecting key routes between Staines and Windsor, Guildford and Havant, and Leicester to Loughborough. From October 25 to November 2, services on the Staines-Windsor and Guildford-Havant lines will be suspended for essential track renewal and signalling modernisation, with replacement buses operating during this period. Separately, the Advertising Standards Authority warned that Trainline's price claims in adverts were misleading, cautioning passengers about the accuracy of advertised ticket prices.
