Ragging incident at HBTU

Recent incidents of ragging across various educational institutions in India have raised serious concerns. In Nashik, two third-year polytechnic students were booked for allegedly ragging a first-year student, who reported being physically assaulted and humiliated at his institute. At Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU) in Kanpur, a third-year BTech student accused eight seniors of assault and attempted murder during a birthday party that turned into a forced ragging session, leading to significant injuries among the junior students. Similarly, another student at Rayalaseema University in Kurnool was assaulted by a group of fifteen seniors under the guise of an introductory session. These incidents highlight a troubling trend of violence and intimidation in academic settings, prompting calls for stricter measures against ragging. Authorities at the respective institutions have initiated investigations and expressed commitment to preventing further occurrences.
