Police Injured in IED Attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

On Wednesday, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near a police vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Buner district, injuring four policemen, including the police post in-charge, Assistant Sub-Inspector Shahid Zada. The attack occurred during a routine patrol in the Nawagai area, prompting a search operation led by District Police Officer Shah Hassan. The injured officers were transferred to a local hospital, where their conditions were reported as stable. This incident is part of a troubling trend of escalating violence against police in Pakistan, particularly linked to the resurgence of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Just days prior, four police officers were killed in a separate attack in Bannu, underscoring the growing threat to law enforcement in the region. Authorities are intensifying security measures in response to these attacks.
