Buc-ee's Opens First Store in Texas Panhandle

Buc-ee's has officially opened its 66th location in Amarillo, Texas, marking the first in the Texas Panhandle and west of the I-35 corridor. The store, which opened at 6 a.m. and celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony later in the morning, spans 74,000 square feet and features 108 gas pumps, including EV charging stations. Amarillo Mayor Cole Stanley highlighted the economic benefits, predicting the store will draw travelers off I-40 who previously would have bypassed the city. Buc-ee's owner Arch Aplin expressed excitement about the community's strong support for the brand, noting that the store's opening ahead of the holiday travel season is particularly advantageous. Additionally, plans are underway for a new Buc-ee's location in Lafayette, Louisiana, showcasing the brand's expansion strategy across multiple states. Buc-ee's total footprint now includes 50 stores in nine states, with more in development.
