Cheryl Burke, a former professional dancer on 'Dancing With the Stars' (DWTS), has criticized the show's judges for lacking sufficient ballroom dance education. In her podcast 'Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans', she emphasized the importance of judges being able to back up their critiques with expertise, stating, 'You can’t really be more strict in a genre that you’re not an expert in.' Burke suggested that judges Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli should enhance their knowledge through formal education or examinations to maintain the integrity of the competition. She expressed concern that the judges' lax approach could undermine the show's competitive spirit. This isn't the first time Burke has voiced her frustrations with the judging panel, as she previously criticized their scoring methods. While some fans believe she harbors resentment towards the judges, Burke insists that her suggestions are aimed at improving the show.
