ESPN Promotes Laura Rutledge to Full-Time Monday Night Football Sideline Reporter
ESPN has expanded Laura Rutledge's role for the 2025 NFL season, promoting her to a full-time sideline reporter alongside Lisa Salters for the top Monday Night Football crew, which also includes Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Salters signed a contract extension to remain with ESPN for her 14th season, while Rutledge will continue hosting NFL Live and covering major NFL and college football events. Katie George and Peter Schrager will join the broadcast team as sideline reporters for select games, including doubleheaders, marking George's NFL debut. This expanded lineup is part of ESPN's preparation for its first-ever Super Bowl broadcast in 2027, making Rutledge's promotion a significant step in her career. The doubleheader format will continue this season and possibly next, pending regulatory approval of ESPN's NFL contract changes. Rutledge expressed excitement about working on Monday Night Football, calling it the pinnacle of her career and a long-time dream.
