Police End Bank Hostage Standoff With Drone Soda

Quinton Marquese Allen, a Detroit-area man, was shot and killed by Michigan State Police after taking a female employee hostage at Mercantile Bank in Saginaw Township. The standoff began after Allen, armed with a sharp object, attempted to cash a fraudulent check and attacked the employee when denied. During negotiations, Allen requested a Faygo Red Pop, which was delivered by drone to distract him. As Allen moved to retrieve the soda and exposed himself at the window, a trooper shot him through the glass. The hostage was injured but released from the hospital later that night. The bank commended law enforcement for their swift response and remains closed during the ongoing investigation.
