Amazon Expands Operations in North Carolina

Amazon has announced the opening of a new Same-Day Delivery facility in Kannapolis, North Carolina, creating 100 full-time jobs and enhancing delivery speeds for local customers. This 200,000-square-foot center will operate 24/7 and is strategically located near Amazon's existing distribution center to allow for efficient package processing. The expansion is part of a broader initiative where Amazon is launching five new facilities across North Carolina, contributing to the creation of over 24,000 jobs in the state since 2010. Economic Development Manager Sam Blatt emphasized the company's commitment to local economic growth and improving service delivery. Kannapolis Mayor Darrell Hinnant expressed optimism about the partnership with Amazon and the city's appeal as a business location. The facility will be tailored to meet the specific product needs of the local community, varying its offerings accordingly.
