Chandika Hathurusinghe Sacked as Bangladesh Coach

Chandika Hathurusinghe has been suspended and is set to be sacked by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) following allegations of misconduct, including the alleged assault of a player during the 2023 ODI World Cup. BCB president Faruque Ahmed announced that Hathurusinghe's contract would be terminated after a 48-hour suspension due to two counts of misconduct: the alleged assault and excessive leave taken beyond his contractual limit. Phil Simmons has been appointed as the interim head coach until the ICC Champions Trophy in February 2025.
