Ski Coach Assaulted at Steamboat Resort

On January 4, a ski coach for the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club was assaulted at Steamboat Resort after a confrontation with a skier regarding the coach's position on the mountain. The skier verbally harassed the coach before following him and physically assaulting him, resulting in injuries including a concussion. Following the incident, the coach was able to capture a photo of the suspect, and a young athlete recorded the assault, which assisted police in identifying the individual. The Steamboat Springs Police Department utilized social media to solicit public help in identifying the suspect, confirming his identity through tips, video footage, and ski pass records. Although all parties involved have been identified, the suspect remains at large, and authorities are working to secure an arrest warrant. The police have urged anyone with information on the suspect's whereabouts to contact them.
