UNLV Extends La Rocque Through 2030

UNLV signed women’s basketball coach Lindy La Rocque to a five-year extension through the 2029–30 season, announced Tuesday by Interim President Chris Heavey and Athletic Director Erick Harper. La Rocque, a Las Vegas native, has compiled a 128–30 record in five seasons (.810) and became the first coach in Mountain West and UNLV history to earn three Mountain West Coach of the Year honors within her first five seasons. She has led the Lady Rebels to four straight regular-season Mountain West championships, three conference tournament titles, three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and back-to-back 30‑win seasons from 2022–24, with the team reaching as high as No. 20 in the AP poll and No. 19 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. University leaders praised La Rocque as a “proven winner” who has built the program into a national contender and a Las Vegas favorite, and the release did not disclose financial terms of the extension. UNLV also highlighted off‑court success, including a program‑record cumulative GPA of 3.41 last fall.
