Two London Stabbings Leave Two Dead; Two Charged

In Uxbridge on 27 October, 22-year-old Safi Dawood was charged with the murder of 49-year-old Wayne Broadhurst and two counts of attempted murder following a triple stabbing in Midhurst Gardens that also left a 45-year-old man with life-changing injuries and a 14-year-old boy who has since been discharged. Police say Dawood, who arrived in the UK in a lorry in 2020 and was granted asylum in 2022, was arrested at the scene after reportedly suffering a medical episode and is also charged with possessing an offensive weapon; he has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at the Old Bailey. Separately, in Tulse Hill, 59-year-old Robert Sabat, of no fixed abode, has been charged with the murder of a 42-year-old woman found with multiple stab wounds at McCormick House. Sabat was tasered at the scene, also faces a charge of threatening a person with an offensive weapon, has been remanded in custody after appearing at Croydon Magistrates' Court and is due to appear at the Old Bailey. Specialist officers are supporting the woman’s family.
