Fremantle Legend Nat Fyfe To Retire End Of Season
Nat Fyfe, the Fremantle Dockers' captain and two-time Brownlow Medal winner, has announced he will retire at the end of the 2025 AFL season after a distinguished 16-year career. The 33-year-old confirmed his decision to teammates, expressing gratitude for his AFL journey and a peaceful acceptance of this being the right time to step away from the game. Fyfe, who has battled injuries this season, has played 245 senior games and hopes to cap his career with a premiership, as Fremantle currently sits fourth in their quest for their first flag. Fremantle football boss Joe Brierty praised Fyfe's legacy, highlighting his dedication and leadership since being drafted in 2009. Fyfe’s outstanding individual achievements include Brownlow wins in 2015 and 2019, with his 2015 season regarded as one of the greatest in modern football. The Dockers and fans alike have expressed deep appreciation for Fyfe's contributions to the club and the sport.
