British Airways Plans Seasonal Nonstop St. Louis-London Flights 2026
British Airways will launch nonstop service between St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL) and London Heathrow (LHR) beginning April 19, 2026, operating four weekly flights (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays) using a Boeing 787‑8. The roughly 4,200‑mile seasonal route (through late October) is blocked at about nine hours eastbound and eight hours westbound and will use a 204‑seat 787 configuration with business, premium economy and economy cabins. The new link is St. Louis’ second transatlantic route after Lufthansa’s Frankfurt service and is designed to connect the Midwest to British Airways’ wider network across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Local leaders praised the announcement as a major win for the region; the St. Louis County Port Authority has committed up to $4.5 million in performance‑based incentives over three years and airport officials estimate the service could bring $50–$100 million annually to the region if successful. British Airways will make STL its 27th U.S. destination as it expands its U.S. network, and officials say flights are already on sale though terminal/gate assignments and potential year‑round status will depend on performance.
