Ananya Birla and Aryaman Vikram Birla, children of Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, have been appointed as directors on the board of Hindalco Industries. Ananya is a successful entrepreneur and artist, known for founding Svatantra Microfin Pvt Ltd, which is now the second-largest microfinance institution in India. Aryaman brings experience in entrepreneurship, venture capital, and sports, and is involved in various Aditya Birla Group businesses, including hospitality and fashion. Their induction comes at a time when Hindalco is experiencing a transformational growth phase focused on sustainability. The board also appointed Anjani Kumar Agrawal and Sukanya Kripalu as independent directors, with Bharat Goenka designated as CFO. Both siblings have previously joined the boards of Grasim Industries and Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail earlier in 2023.
