NASCAR Xfinity Leader Connor Zilisch Withdraws From Watkins Glen Cup Race After Victory Lane Fall
Connor Zilisch, the 19-year-old NASCAR Xfinity Series points leader, suffered a broken collarbone after falling from his car while celebrating his sixth victory of the 2025 season at Watkins Glen. The accident occurred when Zilisch slipped and got his foot caught in the window net as he climbed onto the roof of his No. 88 Chevrolet. Medical personnel quickly attended to him, placing him on a backboard and transporting him to a local hospital, where CT scans confirmed no head injury. Zilisch was discharged shortly after and expressed gratitude for the medical care and support from fans. As a result of the injury, Zilisch has withdrawn from the upcoming NASCAR Cup Series race at Watkins Glen, putting his participation in upcoming events in question. Despite this setback, he remains the series points leader with six wins, though his recovery period of six to twelve weeks casts doubt on his immediate return.
