Federal Judiciary Faces Escalated Cyberattacks Exposing Sensitive Data

The U.S. federal judiciary is intensifying cybersecurity measures following recent sophisticated and persistent cyberattacks targeting its electronic case filing system, which manages sensitive court documents. Although officials have not confirmed the extent of data accessed, reports indicate that sealed materials containing confidential informant identities, indictments, and other sensitive legal information may have been exposed. This breach is part of an ongoing pattern of cyber threats, including a notable 2020 attack linked to Russian actors exploiting SolarWinds software.
