Third Suspect Charged in Turnpike Fatal Shooting of Mother, Daughter

Three men have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the shooting deaths of Beatrice Saintvil and her 4-year-old daughter, Janelle Souffrant, on Florida's Turnpike in June 2024. The latest suspect, 20-year-old Kamarri Sanders, was arrested on Friday in Miami Gardens, following the earlier arrests of Antoine Harris, 28, and Jaquan Thomas, 29, in December. The tragic shooting occurred on June 7, when the victims were attacked while driving near Mile Marker 49. Both Saintvil and Souffrant suffered fatal injuries, with the young girl pronounced dead at the scene and her mother dying later at a hospital. Authorities have stated that all suspects now face two counts of premeditated first-degree murder. The investigation, led by the Broward Sheriff's Office, continues as the community mourns the loss of the mother and daughter.
