Remains of Michael Benjamin Davis Identified

Human remains discovered in a Greenwood, Indiana cornfield in 1993 have been identified as Michael Benjamin Davis from Richland County, South Carolina, following advancements in DNA testing and forensic genealogy. The remains were found by children playing in the field and remained unidentified for over three decades until a collaborative investigation led by the Johnson County Coroner's Office, Othram, and local police uncovered potential relatives through updated methods. Davis, born in 1965, was reported missing by family members in the late 1980s, and while the case is suspected to be a homicide, the cause and manner of death remain undetermined. The coroner's office announced that Davis' family will travel to Indiana to claim the remains and address the media.
