James Madison Defeats North Carolina 70-50

James Madison University (JMU) secured a historic 70-50 victory over North Carolina (UNC), marking the highest-scoring game in JMU history and setting several records. JMU quarterback Alonza Barnett III was instrumental, contributing seven touchdowns and breaking the program record for total touchdowns in a single game. The Dukes dominated the first half with 53 points, the most ever scored by JMU and the highest allowed by UNC in a half. JMU's defense forced five turnovers, including a pick-six and a blocked punt returned for a touchdown. UNC's third-string quarterback Jacolby Criswell threw for 474 yards and three touchdowns in a losing effort. JMU is now 3-0 this season under first-year head coach Bob Chesney.
