Lucid Motors Begins Production of Gravity SUV

Lucid Motors has commenced production of its second electric vehicle, the Gravity SUV, at its Arizona factory, marking a significant milestone for the company. The Gravity offers seating for up to seven, over 440 miles of range, and is designed to compete with Tesla's Model X. The initial Grand Touring version is priced at $94,900, while the lower-priced Touring model, starting at $79,900, is expected to be available in late 2025. CEO Peter Rawlinson emphasized the importance of this model for expanding Lucid's market reach, as it targets a demographic much larger than the company’s first model, the Air sedan. Despite challenges in sales and profitability, Lucid aims to ramp up production and deliveries of the Gravity in the coming months. The company is also planning a new midsize platform for 2026 to compete in the mass-market segment.
