Raye Releases Songs with Mark Ronson Amid Amy Winehouse Comparisons

British singer-songwriter Raye is releasing two collaborations with producer Mark Ronson, known for his work with the late Amy Winehouse, whose legacy often leads to comparisons with Raye. Despite feeling nervous and apprehensive about working with Ronson due to these comparisons, Raye emphasized her admiration for Winehouse and insisted she never intended to replace or imitate her. Their first collaboration, "Suzanne," is set to release on June 13, followed by "Grandma Calls the Boy Bad News," which features on the upcoming F1 movie soundtrack. Raye expressed the challenge of creating freely with Ronson while managing public expectations but ultimately prioritized her passion for working with him. Additionally, she is currently developing her follow-up album to 2023’s "My 21st Century Blues," though she has yet to decide on a title. Throughout, Raye has consistently highlighted the influence of Winehouse while asserting her own artistic identity.
