Three Teens Arrested for Murder of Marine Veteran in Harris County

Three teenage boys, aged 13, 14, and 15, have been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of Marine veteran and rideshare driver Quoc “Jake” Nguyen in northwest Harris County, Texas. Nguyen, 28, was found dead on September 4 after being shot, with the suspects allegedly robbing him of his belongings and vehicle before fleeing the scene. The 15-year-old suspect faces a capital murder charge, while the 13- and 14-year-olds are charged with tampering with evidence. Authorities booked all three teens into the Harris County Juvenile Detention Center. Nguyen, who had served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was studying to become an EMT, was working as an Uber driver to support his family at the time of the shooting. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez described the incident as "tragic and senseless" and extended condolences to Nguyen's family and friends.
