Dr. Swire Urges UK to Release Lockerbie Documents

Swire maintains that the real perpetrators may have been members of the Syrian-backed Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine General Command, rather than Libyan agents, as previously suggested by investigators. His assertions are supported by earlier police findings of a PFLP-GC cell in Germany and doubts raised about forensic evidence linking the bombing to Libya. The Crown Office, however, stands by the conviction of Abdelbasset al-Megrahi, the only person formally convicted in the case.
