Wyandotte County Voters Narrow Mayoral, Sheriff, Commissioner Fields in Primary

Wyandotte County voters participated in a primary election to select candidates for mayor/CEO, several Unified Government Commission seats, and the sheriff's office. The top two candidates for mayor, Mulvany Henry and Watson, will face off in the November general election to replace Tyrone Garner. Key commission races also narrowed to two candidates each: Jermaine Howard and Lisa Walker Yeager in District 1, Andrew Kump and Philip Lopez in At-Large District 2, and Carlos Pacheco and LaVert Murray in District 5. Incumbent Sheriff Daniel Soptic led the sheriff's race and will also advance to the general election.
