Houston Wrong-Way Crash Kills Mother, Son

A tragic wrong-way vehicle collision on I-45 in Houston early Monday resulted in the deaths of a mother and her 10-year-old son. The crash, involving three vehicles, occurred around 12:45 a.m. when a Ford F-150 drove against traffic and collided with a Mitsubishi Outlander carrying a family of four. The mother and son were pronounced dead at the scene, while the father and daughter sustained critical injuries and were hospitalized. A pregnant woman and her passenger in another vehicle also sustained injuries but are in stable condition. The driver of the Ford is in critical condition and could face charges of intoxication manslaughter pending blood test results, as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Good Samaritans attempted to assist by righting the overturned vehicle, but their efforts were tragically in vain for the mother and son.
