The Supreme Court of India has upheld the NEET-UG 2024 examination results, rejecting petitions for a re-test despite allegations of paper leaks and malpractices in specific centers in Patna and Hazaribagh. The court, led by Chief Justice D.Y. Chandrachud, stated that there was no systemic breach or widespread fraud significant enough to invalidate the exam, impacting over 24 lakh students. The court also acknowledged confirmed leaks but distinguished between affected and unaffected students, urging the National Testing Agency (NTA) to strengthen its security measures. Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a chargesheet naming 13 individuals, including candidates and conspirators, involved in the leak. To date, 40 individuals have been arrested related to this case, with 15 arrests made by Bihar Police. The investigation continues with further charges expected.
