Disney Sets Release Date for Lilo & Stitch

Disney has officially scheduled the release of its live-action remake of 'Lilo & Stitch' for May 23, 2025, after several delays since its announcement six years ago. Directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the film retains the heart of the original 2002 animated classic, focusing on a young girl, Lilo, and her bond with an alien experiment named Stitch. Maia Kealoha will portray Lilo, with a supporting cast that includes Zach Galifianakis and Tia Carrere, who voiced Nani in the original film. The film will be released alongside other major titles in Disney's summer 2025 lineup, including the sequel 'Freakier Friday' on August 8. As Disney aims to attract family audiences with 'Lilo & Stitch,' it will compete against more adult-oriented films during the Memorial Day weekend. A promotional video has been shared, teasing the CGI recreation of Stitch and confirming the theatrical release.
