Tom Craig Banned for Cocaine Purchase

Australian Olympic hockey player Tom Craig has been banned for 12 months, with six months suspended, after being arrested in Paris for buying cocaine during the 2024 Olympics. Hockey Australia (HA) announced the ban following an investigation by its integrity unit. Craig is required to complete mandatory training and education programs and will remain eligible for the 2025 national squad. Craig apologized publicly, expressing regret for his actions, which he acknowledged did not reflect the values of his family, teammates, or sport. Despite the ban, Craig will continue to have access to athlete support services. The 29-year-old has played over 100 games for Australia and was part of the team that won silver at the Tokyo Olympics.
