Sheryl Lee Ralph and Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in a grand ceremony on the iconic Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The event, attended by approximately 250 guests including Al Roker and members of Ralph’s Delta Sigma Theta sorority, featured Ralph wearing a strapless white Monsoori Haute Couture gown with an 80-foot sheer shawl carried by 22 Philadanco ballerinas. As Diana Ross’s "Ain’t No Mountain High Enough" played, Hughes met Ralph halfway up the steps, sharing heartfelt and humorous moments. The couple, who maintain a non-traditional long-distance marriage with Ralph living in Los Angeles and Hughes in Philadelphia, exchanged handwritten vows and Ralph performed a surprise rendition of Nat King Cole’s "L-O-V-E." Ralph emphasized the importance of resilience in marriage, paraphrasing Rocky Balboa: "It ain’t about how hard you hit, it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward," and credited their successful relationship to honest communication and couples therapy. The celebration blended theatrical flair with emotional depth, underscoring their enduring love and unique partnership.
