Renault Confirms New Twingo Electric Sales UK Under £17,000

Renault has confirmed that the new electric Renault Twingo will be launched in the UK in right-hand-drive form, following positive reception for the Renault 5 and 4 models. The Twingo, a retro-styled city car, is expected to start at just under £17,000, making it an accessible EV option in the sub-£20,000 market segment. Sharing its platform with the Renault 4, 5, and the upcoming Nissan Leaf replacement, the Twingo aims to combine design, technology, and versatility to appeal to UK customers. Renault CEO Fabrice Cambolive emphasized the importance of the UK market and highlighted the challenges of converting the model to right-hand drive but expressed confidence in its commercial potential. The design recalls the original 1992 Twingo with modern updates such as five doors and retro elements inside and out. While a release date has not been announced, Renault plans to bring the Twingo to UK dealerships soon after its European launch.
