Apple launches iPhone 16e with AI features globally

Apple has launched the iPhone 16e, a budget-friendly model priced at $599, featuring the advanced A18 chip and support for Apple Intelligence, which enhances Siri and other AI capabilities. The device, available in White and Black, incorporates a Face ID-enabled design and a 48MP rear camera, although it lacks some features found in the pricier iPhone 16 models, such as the Dynamic Island. It replaces the Lightning port with a USB-C port to comply with EU regulations and offers up to 512GB of storage. The iPhone 16e is positioned as a more accessible entry into Apple's ecosystem of AI features, potentially attracting users who previously found the premium prices prohibitive. Pre-orders for the iPhone 16e will begin on February 21, with availability starting February 28.
