Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has requested Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to support the expansion of roads leading to the Secunderabad Railway Station and the new Cherlapally railway terminal, both undergoing significant upgrades. The Cherlapally terminal, costing ₹415 crore, is nearing completion and will enhance passenger and freight train access to Hyderabad. Reddy emphasized the need for a 100-foot road from the FCI godown and two 80-foot roads towards Bharat Nagar and Mahalaxmi Nagar to address traffic congestion. The Secunderabad Railway Station is being modernized at a cost of ₹715 crore, with the goal of meeting international standards by the end of next year. Reddy noted that narrow access roads, particularly between Rathifile bus station and Alpha Hotel, are causing serious traffic issues during peak hours, necessitating immediate attention from the state government. The upgrades aim to improve transport efficiency and reduce congestion at existing railway stations in the area.
