King Charles and Queen Camilla Visit Australia

King Charles III and Queen Camilla will visit Sydney and Canberra from October 18-22, marking their first trip to Australia since Charles ascended the throne. This visit, curtailed due to the King's ongoing cancer treatment, includes meetings with cancer researchers and Indigenous representatives, a review of the Royal Australian Navy fleet, and a community barbecue in Sydney. The tour will highlight Charles's environmental interests with a visit to the CSIRO and discussions on climate change. They will also attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will officially welcome them, underscoring the significance of their visit in showcasing Australia's spirit and achievements. This marks the first time a reigning monarch has visited Australia since Queen Elizabeth II in 2011.
