Two major cultural initiatives in 2025 are highlighting Gaza’s rich history and the ongoing threats to its heritage amid Israel’s continued war and blockade. In Islamabad, the 'Art for Life – Art for Gaza: The Nakba Continues' event gathers artists from around the world to express solidarity with Palestinians and to challenge narratives that deny their presence and rights, emphasizing art as a tool for global unity against injustice. Meanwhile, in Paris, the 'Gaza’s Saved Treasures: 5,000 Years of History' exhibition at the Institut du Monde Arabe showcases nearly 100 artifacts, underscoring Gaza’s historical role as a crossroads of civilizations and the urgency to preserve its heritage as UNESCO reports the destruction of nearly 70 cultural sites since October 2023.
