World number one Iga Swiatek has withdrawn from the China Open in Beijing, citing personal matters. The 23-year-old Polish player, who won the tournament last year by defeating Russia's Liudmila Samsonova, expressed regret about not being able to participate. Swiatek has also withdrawn from the Korea Open and has not competed since her quarter-final exit to Jessica Pegula at the US Open. Despite her success this season, including four WTA 1000 titles, Swiatek has cited fatigue and the demanding tennis schedule as challenges. Aryna Sabalenka, reigning Australian Open and US Open champion, will be the top seed in Beijing in Swiatek's absence.
