LSU Gymnastics Legend Haleigh Bryant Joins Coaching Staff

Alexander Katchalov, a former gymnastics coach in Polk County, Florida, was arrested after admitting to having sexual intercourse twice with a girl he coached when she was under 16. The investigation began when detectives searched for the now-adult victim, who was found at Katchalov's residence; he had a previous conviction related to child pornography and was on felony sexual offender probation. Authorities are urging any additional victims to come forward due to his history and concerning behavior. Meanwhile, LSU gymnastics star Haleigh Bryant has been named an assistant coach for the 2025-2026 season, replacing Ashleigh Gnat. Bryant is one of the most decorated gymnasts in LSU and NCAA history, known for her 33 All-American honors, two NCAA Championships, and leadership in LSU's first team national championship in 2024. Head coach Jay Clark praised Bryant's character and leadership, highlighting her passion for guiding the next generation of gymnasts as LSU seeks to build on its recent success.
