AC Milan Signs Luka Modric on One-Year Deal from Real Madrid

Croatia captain Luka Modric has completed a move to AC Milan on a one-year contract with an option to extend until June 2027, marking a new chapter after 13 years at Real Madrid. The 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, who turns 40 in September, left Real Madrid as the club's most decorated player with 28 trophies, including six Champions League and four La Liga titles. Modric's arrival at Milan was confirmed by coach Massimiliano Allegri, who praised him as an extraordinary player. Modric will wear the number 14 shirt, previously worn in honor of Johan Cruyff during his time at Tottenham Hotspur. He aims to continue playing at a high level, including hopes to participate in the 2026 World Cup. Milan, having finished eighth in Serie A last season, look to strengthen their midfield with Modric joining alongside players like Youssouf Fofana, Yunus Musah, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
