Michigan Mother Charged in Son's Suicide Pact Murder

Katie Austin Lee, 39, from Holland, Michigan, has been charged with open murder and resisting arrest after allegedly killing her 17-year-old son, Austin Pikaart, as part of a failed suicide pact. According to police reports, Lee called 911 claiming her son wanted to die before turning 18 and that they had both attempted to overdose on medication. When this failed, Lee reportedly used a knife to cut her son's throat and arm after he passed out. Officers found Lee holding a knife at the crime scene and had to tase her to disarm her.
